Airport Refuses Basic Footwear

December 17, 2017

The Qantas Lounge at Melbourne airport is taking no prisoners. The Human League singer Joanne Catherall was recently deined access to the first-class lounge area because she was wearing Uggs – which are officially considered sleepwear. Even if you wear them outside. We’ve seen some pretty crazy stuff happening in airports, but this seemed too low-key to register. This is actually a long-standing tenet of the Qantas dress code: no flip flops, beachwear, head-to-toe gym wear, sleepwear. Sheesh.
